Counter Blade Concepts
Increase your survival against edged-weapon attacks
Real knife attacks are sudden, incredibly violent, close-range encounters, and unfortunately, much more common in this day and age. To survive that type of threat, you need a practical, proven system of tactics you can trust.
Counter Blade Concepts (CBC) is a self-defence system
that focuses on empty-hand defenses against edged-weapon attacks.
The goal of CBC is to significantly increase your chances of surviving
if you were attacked by someone armed with an edged weapon.

Based on a clear understanding of how those attacks happen, CBC then provides a simple, easily learned system of defenses that enable you to minimize injury to you, decisively control the attacking limb, and rapidly disable an assailant so you can escape safely. Counter-Blade Concepts teaches you how to seamlessly integrate all the skills of CBC into an unstoppable, layered system of tactics that allows you to rapidly adapt your defenses to any attack. CBC has literally saved lives and has become the counter-knife system of choice of many armed and unarmed professionals employed in the law enforcement spectrum.
About Martial Blade Concepts
Developed by renowned edged-weapon expert and Black Belt Hall of Fame member Michael Janich, the Martial Blade Concepts (MBC) company includes several systems of defense including Counter Blade Concepts (CBC). These are all based on integrated principles of tactical awareness, avoidance, and de-escalation to provide a comprehensive, extremely adaptable approach to personal protection.
MBC has researched and developed an in-depth understanding of human physiology and the most effective methods of targeting key structures with small, legal-to-carry knives. Sometimes called “biomechanical targeting,” this approach has been thoroughly reviewed and validated by leading experts in the field of tactical medicine.
